Barbara Gorson, one of the key and much loved leaders on the campaign committee and an extraordinary champion of our new Capitola Library, passed away January 5, 2019. If you would like to contribute to honor her library legacy you may do so with the form below.

Barbara was a former member of the Library Advisory Commission, serving eight years as member and the last two years as the chair of the Santa Cruz Public Library Joint Powers Board. She was a founding member of the Capitola Branch Library Friends and has been a key member of the campaign committee to raise funds for the new Capitola Branch Library.

The library was Barbara’s great passion. Her family would like to carry on her work there. Your (tax deductible) donations in honor of Barbara will be used to support our capital campaign and special library programs.

Does your employer match your donations through Benevity? If yes, look up either Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County or their tax ID number, 94-2808039. In Benevity there is a place on the donation form where you can write a note to designate the purpose of the gift. That’s where you would write write “Capitola Library Capital Campaign.” If your gift is in honor of Barbara Gorson, be sure to add that to your note!
